The bigger the value, the bigger the word.
My top values are responsibility, achievement and independence. The others
are very important to me as well, but these hold very strongly in my life.
Although I think that my core values will stay the same, their importance
may change as life changes.
Responsibility:
I am very big on the fact that you can't blame others for your mistakes.
To be a leader, you must be able to be responsible for yourself, as well as others.
This shows maturity. From a young age, I had to be responsible for the well-being
of my younger sisters. If I feel like something has to do with me personally,
then I take it seriously because I feel responsible for the outcome.
Achievement:
I am a very future-oriented person. I am always thinking about improving
and striving towards something. It is not okay for me, or a leader, to be
okay with being just "average". We should always be looking to achieve
something, it doesn't have to be something big but even something small.
I am always striving for a 4.0, even though I know an A- would not kill me.
Independence:
I think that everyone needs to be able to be alone, to be able to do
some things without the help of others. Concern for others is another
strong value I have, but without independence you would not be competent
and able to grow in whatever position you have. For example, I will
always try to figure out something for myself or plan something myself
before I will ask for help, because I want to know I can do it.
